Hi

I'm in the market for a proper fishing rain jacket (not that green snoek vang pvc jackets - to heavy and stiff)
I'm looking for a good rain Jacket, that not only keep the wet outside, but give the body some nice warmth as well.

1) Assassin Yoke Beachmaster
2) Quiver Yoke (the Double or Single)
3) Assassin Splash Pro
then I see there is also the "fish-on" make

I need to order on-line, so I have no idea what the difference are , or what else is also available

what do you use? and feel its good value for money.

My 5c.
I found a parachute rain suite to be best suited for fishing, they are light, water proof and fairly cheap (R400). You can do an online search, quite a few fishing store stock them. Just dress warmly underneath.
If you do go the premium option make sure it's waterproof, no water resistant or splash proof. The problem with real waterproof jackets are that they don't breath well so you end up sweating underneath. Then when the rain stop you can't take it off otherwise you freeze, hence I like the parachute material option.
Also, the waterproofness of material reduces with use and washing. And washing a thick raincoat to remove the fishy bait smell is much more of a mission than a thin parachute material which dries quite quickly.
What works well is to wear a Derma-tec or thermal second skin base layer, and then whatever the conditions require over that.

txs, DJP, that 5c make sense. The assassin splash pro got a "peak" type front on the cap that makes it so nice, especially when you wear a beanie .
I always wear a second skin underneath, it just keep the body so nice and warm. I ordered from TEMU, dirt cheap and its the same as these big name brands that cost so much.
thanks meneer, always good advice

Good old yellow plastic one from the co-op. I have a quiver, i have a few parachute, softshells and even expensive hiking type ones. If you are going to be standing in the rain the entire day... the yellow one to me is the best. It is not as stiff as the green proper oil skin, but nothing comes through it. Wear a second skin and a fleece top and the Cape can bring it's worst. I like that is has push buttons that you can use although it has a zip as well. If for some reason u end up in the water.... washed off rocks or fall off the boat, one pull and everything is loose and you can get out of it. If you end in the drink with a quiver, with the straps around the waist fastened and the straps on the wrists, it will be like a mini wader, and it's Davey Jones' locker for you.

But to each their own. It's been working for me for the last 20 odd years, replaced once
