WHAT A PRIVILEGE

I went for a dive at Seapoint last night, and decided to wright this after I got out!

The water was  about 16degrees, not very clean, with the best viz on the bottom about 3meter. I shot 4 hotties,of witch the biggest was about 2kg. I definitely have had better, more beautiful dives, and have shot more and bigger fish!

But this dive was special, in our own back yard. I looked around a lot, saw a school of 8cm long milkfish, saw a octopus fighting some cray's, with a "skaamhaai" hanging around for some leftovers. I also for the first time ever had a "pajamahaai" bump me, don't know if he had eggs/a female or his cave close by, but he did this twice, at first I wanted to bump back, but then decided to just move away.

I got out, got out of my gear, and enjoyed a beer wile watching the last bit of the sunset.

This morning my batteries are charged!!!

I have realised , ones again, what a great sport we are part of, what a beautiful part of the country we live in and how privilege we are to know the under water world!

This weekend we will be hunting for Tail again, in hopefully 15meters of viz at Struis, with GWS in the back of our head and a boat watching over us, and that will also be AMAZING, every dive is  special!

I want to thank my dad for introducing me to this sport/way of life, and I want to thank every one else with  who I have ever shared a Underwater moment!

IT IS A BIG PRIVILEGE!

First of all, i wanna say that you are so true my friend. Alot of people take our "backyard" here for granted, but man its awsome. When i dived on tuesday, just off seapoint too, Saw a few pajama sharks, but we also saw and awsome sunfish. Absolutely majestic and beautiful. I cant say how important the ocean is in my life. Without it, there is no life.

I have to agree (as would every spearo on this forum :p).
Even after a nice long dive, even after getting some nice fish, all I want to do is go back in.

As Cameron Kirkconnell said in his blog, it is like being in the womb again, weightless, free and at peace.
