Whaling season

Can somebody tell me when is the best time to have a holiday in the Cape that falls with the Whaling season. Would like to see the whales when we are there.

Planning a holiday next year. Want to fly down and hire a car when we are down there.

Whales where HAPPY on Sunday hey. they were in very very close!! real nice to see. was at Kalk bay for abit, they were maybe 50m from the harbour wall - if that much.

Hi thunder,

There are normally plenty whales from now until Dec/Jan...

They usually arrive at the beginning of October from the Hermanus side.... But for the last 3 years there have been plenty from August onwards... This year we also had a no of Orcas in the bay during the winter months...

Thanks guys. Will plan my holiday for next year. Maybe take a rod with and do some fishing as well. Hopefully there will be some eds and non eds to play with that time next year.
