lol sarah fishing takes my first love, then i play with snakes, they both take me equally interesting places, there are some much more venomous things in the sea like a box jelly and sea snakes are a hell of alot more venomous then most land snakes. so next time you wading to cast keep that in mind bwahahahahah lol

You know what, Deisel, I can still handle snakes if they are kept in a closed environment but what I cannot handle, are those SPIDERS.. BRRRRRRR....:X

ps i dont kill spiders but i aint a huge fan, i have kept a few but i preffer snakes as i know were the sharp end is

I'm sorry if I offend anyone, but, I kill ALL spiders - dont care how big or how small!!

Sometimes Simen has to do it for me if they are too big. No man, those things multiply and before you know it, you've got a whole colony of those critters ...

I just found out that there are red romans here in Nam. I found one outside (luckily a dead one).... Those things are grosssssssssssssssss and fast..

That Elapid guy... is on the forum quite a bit.. just because he doesn't post much doesn't mean he isn't around.

Only reason I posted the pics is because I used to have quite a large collection of snakes, (hence my name on the site) and thought some people would enjoy seeing them.

Wasn't trying to get touchy bro, just stating my case ;)

That tiger retic you posted looks good. was the pic taken at repti-pets?

Did you go on a SARCA trip where you used the funnel trap you caught the snouted in? Ive been on a few SARCA trips, and absolutely loved them.

Sorry for all the questions.

Cheers

no worries mate na not thats ians retic a few ppl have asked me that, that was actually a pic taken three years after i sold it to a chap in goarge his name was actually goarge,.. na i havnt been sarca trips but thats were i learnt to make the traps, of my collection very few are indiginous animals, i enjoy catching them and then just releasing its intresting to see what micro biologies a place holds, at least i think that the rite word hehehe, ians retic was actually a bit bigger if i can recall, wish i never sold her but just couldnt keep feeding that thing i needed money to buy tackle and space to put it, when i bought the critter i never realized how speedy it would grow, you must know terrance whittle if you are a big snake man?

Yea, i've met terrance a few times. I don't know many of the natal guys.

I used to be a member of the transvaal herpetology association for man years, but left it because of politics within the reptile trade.

i think the words you were looking for are micro biomes ;)

thats it micro biomes hahahaha, i was part of the west rand herp ass, but it was a joke thats where i met ian and angelo befroe they started repti pets, i am not big fans of them anymore they to taken in by the money and forget the love of the animal, terrance is also a money man but stil loves his herps and travells around the world searching for lost species and things of such sort, so i still have a close friendship with him, mike perry cliff bull , the list goes on but few of them still do it for the love of the animal

@Deisel, You feel like catching a 4m Black Mamba at my lodge? He's been around for the last 2 years now and nobody is willing to catch this bugger. He took out a Rock Hirax about three day ago, so the hole Hirax family is a bid edgy with this mother around. In 2005 we shot a 2.5m Black Mamba in the Main Lodge under the couch. That were not plesant. I realy do not want to take the same route with this fella. Any suggestions?

The sad thing is Kumez, that it's still a puppy!!! The largest specimen that we have found in the reserve were 5.2m. That is a siza. I caught a 1.5m Python the other night in my house. How it got in i do not know? Lets just say the wife were not to pleased with that one in the house.

We have tried everything amaginable to get rid of it. Unfortunately we are not allowed to use posion or any other method to destroy the animal due to us being in a Game Reserve. The one we shot, were in the main lodge and it were going for the Guests. Yip, my balls are not big enough to catch that snake, and the sad part is that it can lift 2/3th of its body horizontaly and it has a nero toxic venom. It attack your nervouis systym. Well im 1.95m tall and it's scary to think that it will pass me with a good 1m!!!!!!!

Anybody fancy to come and catch the snake?
