I wish the wife would have come fishing with me ( when we were married ) so now I go by myself so if I catch nothing or somthing I have myself to blame....

I have aslo just sent Emp a Pm on a fishing trip to Gabon,I am waiting to see what reply he gives me,but you can check the link below if you all want to check out the place we will be going to and the fish you can catch there..

Now that did not post to well. Bottomline is tomorrow is going to be a fine fishing day, but tonite is going to be bad news cold.

Binx I'm thinking of trying Caymans Beach again. I feel it deserves another chance, but more or less in the spot that you were fishing. I think I will start there at 06h00 tomorrow and give it till maybe 10h00 before moving on. We have also never been to Cape Point, so I'm thinking of going to have a look. If you think that is a better spot, say so and we will pick you up on the way.

Remember the thing about no points? I met a Sealine member at Strandfontein last Saturday afternoon. He was walking with his little girl and he seemed seeeeeriously heartbroken. Proceeded to tell me that he and the missus had had an argument the nite before and she had taken all his privileges away. His words, 'privileges'. So he was not allowed to fish.  AG SHAME MAN!!!!!!!

Where were you saturday, was at Strandfontein @ about 12, and proceeded to see three Galjoen pull out, thought you might be there? Did you get any fish on the weekend ?

Morning Binx,

Started at Hangklip at 23h00 on Friday and only caught "Skaamhaaie' and Barbels. Moved over to the Strand wall for hightide early the next morning ~ zilch~ the tide was to low. Arrived Brokenroad at 0800 and tried till 11h00. In that period one Galjoen was caught and one Zebra by two different anglers. Was gatvol and went home. We had prawn, wonderworms, sardine, chokka, mussels and redbait. All produced no edibles.

Still, a fair amount of Galjoen was caught in the Strand and Gordonsbay this weekend, all on ripened redbait. 7 in the 2kg class from Caymens Beach by one angler alone (I should have stuck to my original plan and gone to Caymans). A few good sized Shad were also caught at Gordensbay harbour.

Well we will try again.

Mickey- Well days like that happen bru and there is nothing we can do about it. Might go out this weekend will see but it is a good possibility.

Morning Mansoor, you really must try to get some fishing in, 'all talk and no play makes Jack a dull boy', and I think it would be nice to meet you. So, maak 'n plan!

Binx, I am ALWAYS available for fishing. I think we must stop playing around. All my friends yskaste is dik with Galjoen and the only Galjoen I get to eat, they give me. Braaied 3 big ones on Saturday afternoon. I have been shying away from the ripened redbait because of the stink, that long-lasting stink that pervades everything you wear and your wife drives you nuts. Deon and I are going to collect a fair amount of redbait this week and ripen it. We will have enough for a couple of guys. Then this weekend we are only going to target Galjoen. One of the most prolific Galjoen anglers in our area is a guy called Tony, from Gordonsbay. We went with him yesterday afternoon and he showed us some of his Galjoen spots. He proceeded to catch a big Galjoen at the same time while showing us and lost another two that came off the hook. If you want we can hook up with him this weekend (If you remember the guy that caught that big Wildeperd off the rocks at Caymans when you were there, thats him).

So, Galjoen, watch out, daddy's coming a-hunting!

Dull is an understatement. me been going thru a bit of a pre-mid life crisis depression. havent wet a line in cpt as yet. just so dang out of it. really.. cant believe im actually writing this on the forum. Maybe it would do me some good to get out and smell the fresh sea breeze. i dunno...just been so i dunno. u a timer (in the better wise sense of the word) uncle mickey  gimmie some advise please.

Hello Gents, just had a good chat with Tony. He will take us under his wing and show us all the best Galjoen fishing spots on Saturday. You can really learn from this guy, he is a top class, successful Galjoen angler. We will start at 07h30 on Saturday morning. He says there is not much point in starting earlier. By the way, something I did not know, Tony says that he always catches the most Galjoen on a receding tide.

I told him we would be 10 people plus, so Mansoor here's your chance to break in your rod.

Binx, Expat, Visvinger and Co, we will probably start at the reefs off Caymans beach, but I will let you know. I will collect and 'mature' enough redbait for six of us, so if you don't have, don't worry, I will use you for an excuse for the stink coming from my yard. Pêlle eerste jy weet, or so my wife says.

Mickey, ek is ongelukkig uit vir die naweek. Ons gaan Saterdag bietjie Glen Oaks toe om met die bakkies in die modder te gaan vassit :D. Volgende naweek sal vir my werk as die weer saamspeel
