you should check the salt water fishing forum... they had a topic about cape point/dassen and had some guys on it that seemed to go our alot and know what's happening...

Soeties needs very flat water to be clean, unfortunately.  I have been wathcing it breaking every day this week - althought the swell has been small, it has a long period so some of the reefs have been breaking.

You can drive past, but I think you will have a much better chance of getting a dive in at Cape Maclears or Paltboom in the pool area whch is diveable in quite big swell.  (And I shot my biggest gallie there)

I dived this weekend with my brother at a little secret spot and we got it good! it's been a while that we had good vis and fish but it was a great dive. first down and I was into a school of galjoen, they seemed very relaxed so I waited for a bigger fish; not finding one i went back up to see my brother get a nice galjoen. I went straight down again to see the school still very relaxed and chilling in the area so I managed to plug one too. we swam around for about an hour and saw alot of hotties and galjoen with the odd smallish roman and john brown around... my brother managed to get two hotties while i was hunting around for a roman but unfortunately I never found  one worth shooting.
all in all it was a great dive.
anyone else get any luck?
