Hi

I was fishing RDW friday and saterday.Friday we caught about 25 fish where the bigest was 2.2 kg and the friday afternoon a strong wind picked up from the south and later on also rain.Saterday only 1 smallish bass.

What effect those the weather have on bass?

Where would they typicaly go or are they slugish to bite?

Thank you

If a low pressure moves over they will definately go off the bite.
Bass are very sensative to Pressure and some times the day before a front moves over the fish can go absolutely bannanas and stop dead the next day.

Just some info. Even if the weather goes for a ball of poo it does not mean the fish will stop eating. You just need to change your approach and find where they are hiding. I fished EBA on Saturday in Nigel with MR Attie and fishing started off ok and that bad wind came up. We managed to catch 11 between us. Me with 5 and Attie taking the lead just before we got off the water so he ended with 6 all in the cr@p weather. What we noticed was that some males were getting ready to spawn again and the rest would just hang in schools just off the shallows in the deep water. It was crazy because as soon as you got a bite and fish was on there would be 4 or so bigger fish that would swim with the one on the hook it was totally insane. But to get back to the point. Our approach was to fish a section and move away for a bit waiting for that spot to reload and then come back and hit it again.
All fish were around a kilo with my biggest coming in only at 1.3 but still a very fun day

If you are bank fishing it is difficult to get to aal the spots. I fished evrything from points to ledges to trees with everything from spinners, to sencos and squirrel tail worms with no luck.

Must just have been a bad day for me.

Ryan that is beauty, just over 2kg? Is that Sampie?
