Got this guy yesterday morning, biggest one I've gotten so far, I used to get them alot on fly but this one fell to a redeye/squid combo, I didn't get weight or sizes as I wanted to get him back in the water as soon as possible

Nice fish for the speicies concerned.

Further North those sizes are common. In the Durban region the average is probably 20cm. Abundant in the shallows of the beachfront during Summer. My biggest is just over the 1.5kg , they get bigger and can pull you flat at times, particularly when there are a lot of them. Prawn and chokka combo works well.

Dropshot and fly fishing for them also produces results.

Yes I must say for their size they put up a nice fight I wonder what size they get up to?

This one measured close to 40cm and I'm sure they get a fair bit bigger.
