waterproof trailer lights

Advice please:

I had truck lights (the LED type) put on my trailer about 3 years ago, and they are now one by one getting water inside and conking out. To be honest I haven't had a proper look at where the water is coming in, and I'm not looking to fix, but replace (I assume once there's been salt water inside they're pretty much stuffed anyway)

Is there any type of light that will last?

Nothing lasts when exposed to saltwater ... NOTHING

I use the normal sealed truck lights, but the mistake that most people make is where the light wires and the line wires are joined, THAT IS WHERE THE PROBLEM IS MOST OF THE TIMES.

I have over time learnt to run to wires on both sides of the trailer, both of them being 5core wires.
On your lights (both sides) you have 2 indicator wires and three wires for your red light, by running the 5 core all the wires are joined straight to eachother USING WATERPROOF HEATSHRINK, it's very important that it's not normal heatshrink but the MUCH MORE EXPENSIVE waterproof one (which has glue on the inside)
On the front of the trailer I then have a waterproof box where both wires run into, and they are then connected into an electrical block, from there I then run the 7core cable to the plug.

I have tried every imaginable way of doing it for customers and this way has so far worked the best.

Or have a chevron with the lights and numberplate mounted to it

Hang on the back of the boat and remove before pushing your trailer into the water

Morning Thika

Had that, but got lazy - too much PT to put on and store and take off etc.
