WATER METER PROBLEMS

Quick question........I can't see the running numbers, is the round numbers the same as the running numbers.

I am reading my meter as 2505 kl........is this right

Is this happening in Durbanville to? There's a big balls up somewhere, it seems like it is all over Cape Town. Our bill has gone through the roof.

Our meter has been standing still since November, but we get charged between 20 and 40 kl per month! I now water my garden every day!

I would show you a pic of our meter but I cant find it under 3 feet of mud ,yet we get a reading every month ,guys must have exray eyes

Pm Boepens he is a shithouse mechanic ,maybe he will know.our meter are different ,just got a little window with the numbers like a car odometer

the guys that do the water metre readings are contract by the city of cape town.

there was a chappie that took readings the other day while i was watering the garden, he reckons to me ' hulle gebruik seker baie water in hierdie plek neh'....

most of the houses water meter readings are inside the premises and when this is the case they give u a guesimate reading.... so if the neighbours etc are filling up there pools up etc guess who's going to pay more?

The council estimates your water, You can phone in everymonth with your reading, the meter readers come around every 3 months.

Our usage has also been very high recently but we put it down to the fact that we have builders working at our premises. They stopped during the holiday period but are back again. Lets see if things get better or get worse.

First thing to do is close all taps and don't forget the geyser ! Check the meter, if its moving you have a leak. Failing that it may well be time for a new meter as they don't last forever.. Also with the dial meters they are read from right to left. As was mentioned it is always a good idea to phone in your meter reading (its a hassle but sure beats paying too much for water you haven't used )
