Wow, Benniejordaan! That is fantastic, I really didn't expect to get such a speedy response at all. I have ordered a second hand unit ( via) ebay and it is due to arrive by the 11 July 2014. If you still have the transducer, I will contact you to purchase.

Yip, took a chance on a second hand unit- with postage, under R500. 
It's going to take abuse on kayak. Just want to check the ebay and second hand units system. It's a chance but worth looking into it.
