Hey Kingfish...
Moenie panik nie.
If you want your Kingie, you'll get it!
If you can wait, the sardine run in July down the south coast is a good bet.
Follow the reports, when they hit mid to lower south coast, book in to a place, somewhere around Turton for a week, and follow the sards. When you get them, use the Jig 'n Drop method. You WILL get one or a few sharks etc. (Or use a big red and white plug/popper).
If you can't wait that long, head up to Maputoland now (Jan to Apr is best Kingie season) and use your No.12 Fly rod (or normal tackle with live bait, poppers), at places like Kosi, Mabibi (Sibaya camping spot right at the north end of the Sodwana reserve area), Rocktail Bay etc.
If none of these options suit you, then fish South Pier to Cave Rock area with live Shad every day that you can, weather permitting) and you'll get one of the big Kingies that have been coming out now and then.
PERSEVERENCE!
Cheers
Mick
