Hi guys.
Just read on one of the other forums that you need a VHF radio when fishing Mozambique. Is this the same for the guys using jetskis?
I just bought myself a 29meg,used it twice.
I'm fishing the 2013 Racetech comp, will I be needing the VHF there?
Don't know how I'm going to explain this to my wife!!!!!

I fish ponta regularly and have never had VHF radio only 29mhz, they dont ask about radios or any safety kit provided you have your seaworthy and temporary import permit.

Enjoy the fishing and hope to see you at the comp.

Usually Mozambique follow SA regulations and the SAMSA notice says they are "Gradually phasing out " 29meg and moving to VHF so no mad rush to change. The only situation you may come across is Durban, Shelly Beach, Rocky Bay who insist on 29 meg and these guys will have to change to fall in line with regulation. As most guys know the quality of reception and build quality of 29 mhz is not good. I will be in Ponta on a couple of weeks time and I will check with them. Hope I dont open a can of worms !!!!!!!
