Vehicle access to Beach at Cape Vidal

Members of our Ski Boat Club reported that they had to move from Cape Vidal to Sodwana a few weeks ago because the beach at Vidal had a 2m+ drop-off as you exit from the trees.
Apparently only Jet Ski’s were able to launch, but the ski’s had to be pushed by hand from the dune to the water. During high tide, the guy’s had to beach up the dune (managing only half way), keeping the ski from rolling in the side wash while waiting for their vehicles.
 
I noticed the same thing at Malongane during July, though it was not preventing access to the beach larger Ski boats had several attempts exiting the beach.

Is it as bad as reported at Vidal? Has this happened at Vidal before? Has it improved? How long will it take the ocean to replace the sand it took?

Thanks for the photo's, I thought the story was exaggerated a bit, but clearly not!
They asked the green overalls if they may use shovels to create access to the beach.
The reply was that they would only be allowed to drive up and down until a road is formed by itself.

Hope this improves before the Dorrie's arrive in November!!!!

I was there on sunday to find out what the rules are about the only 3 jetskis per day to launch! and its true only 3 !!! Also the launch site has been closed on sunday for all launches for jetskis and boats, no idea when it will open again!

Hi there.

Just got back from Vidal,the ramp is getting better but you will still k@k to pull a big boat up there, its not that its a long ramp,its just steep.

But at least the yellow fin tuna are around.
