Went to Van stadens this morning at 2 and got home at 10. The sea was as flat as it can be with the water temp at about 16-17 degrees. This is some photos of the deep water points (the pics don’t do the spots justice). The dolphins were swimming in the gullies not even 20mfrom my rod stand, indicating the depth of the water.
The only bad thing is that the water is very clear but if you walk towards the plantation, the sea starts to get color with some really deep spots. I left all my steel and circles at home to force myself to try and catch something for the pan. NEVER AGAIN. I was so disappointed in myself and really missed my steel traces and a stiff rod as I was only using a 3piece g3 (4 ounce tip) and a posiden with a 5 ounce.
Unfortuanitly I could not kept my eyes open anymore and left before 10. Stipud because the tide hasn’t even started to change to high then. I should have waited just to check if they are around but sleep felt more important then. I am 100% sure that Van Stadens will deliver some good size nuns this season and that they are already patrolling the area.
For now just some sleep and then next week I will give it a go.
