Vaaldam /Leboya Bay

HI All,

Went to the vaaldam last weekend 28-30 Jan 2011. The venue is nice, although IMHO a bit expensive. Saturday it for packed with day visitors and the casting was a rather big stuff up.

Water level is very high. Waded about 80m and was only waist deep into water. Caught 40 between 2 of us 90% was smaller than 1KG, only 2 nice yellow's came out , one 2,5kg and one 2kg.

The guys next to us was rowing in about 150-200m and got some nice carp .. would recon about 3kg plus.

Hi Andre

Where on the Vaal Dam were you? Im loking to arrange a bachelors weekend involving some bank angling. Most likley a small comp between us . We will be a group of about 40 guys spilt into 10 teams of 4 or something like that. Is there any place on the Dam you can suggest ? Must have ablutions.

Hey there Luke

Im sure leboya bay can help you , but i strongly suggest you mail or calll them to book if it is as many people as that. If going to leboya bay make sure you take the canoe / baitboat as the decent size fish are in deeper.

HI PI ,

 

I was fishing with just about anything RED. The worms was good , but that attracted small fish, the Biggish yellow i caught at 01:00 on Worms though.

But once again i suggest go deep.
