Vaaldam Bass

When do you guys think the Vaaldam Bass will come onto the bite (spawn)? I have private access to a place closeby to Oranjeville for the next two months only. Some nice jettys and other structure around there. Never caught(tried) a Bass in the Vaal but I know they are there.

Slow finesse fishing. They eat all year round but very very slowly in winter. They spawn when the water is warm enough. Around october

are normally a month behind the Renosterkop and Rust de Winter spawn so probably mid September

I has an early September smash there with about 40 fish over 1kg for the day as early as 3 September, all shore caught (spinning from the shore)

Most productive was a white fluke and a white and red spinnerbait with a combo colorado and willow blade. Slow and deep retrieve, we had 5 fish over 3kg for the day.

There are not just bass in the Vaal Dam, there are a lot of Bass in the Vaal Dam and BIG bass in the Vaal Dam. Oranjeville and especially the bank of the opposite side of Oranjeville have a lot of rocky outcrops and sand/gravel beds which draws in a lot of Bass for the spawn
