Evening gents

Im going to Dimalachite in a few weeks and would greatly appreciate a bit of info on the place like which spot, whats the river and fishing like there this time of the year etc.?

I will be targeting yellows on the fly, some specimen and if that fails conventional fishing, I will also target the cats during the night.

Ive done a search but unfortunately not alot of info.

Any info will be greatly appreciated!

Hi henryhoek.

Went there last year with a few of my friends also for the first time... Which then turn into our last time. There are alot of rocks in the river and not very deep water so you get stuck alot. We lost around 40 traces between the 6 of us. On the fly u will catch nice yellows but for conventional angling u will battle unless you can get stand 4 or 5 which is the best spots. In terms of specimen in the river??? Let me know how that went.

Thanks vang hom frikkie.
I will try and make sure to get those stands.
As far as specimen goes, ive been fishing the vaal for many years and have seen a few beasts come out although few and far appart so it is more of a hope than anything based on concrete knowledge or skill.

Ill cartainly give feedback after the (hopefully fruitfull) trip.

On the other hand, where would you reccomend as a decent deeper water place in that part of the country?

Thanks
Henry

We went to Benjoh new name Vaal de Soileh earlier in the year. Altough we didnt catch any monsters the fishing was plesant. The only time we sat still was when the rods were out of the water.

Alot of yellows under a kilo. Like i said not monsters but still fish..... If you want bigger fish rather try Vaaldam
