Vaal Dam Polution

was at the dam on the weekend at oranjeville.water was great.got a beautifull yellow around 1.5kg,7 carp all under a kilo and on small grasscarp.the pulution is bellow the dam.it starts where the klip rivier meets the vaal the sewr spill is actually in the klip then that goes in to the vaal.so anywhere from the klip vaal joining,down stream
I'm going to the dam on Saturday and Sunday.
Will provide you with feedback, but from previous experience one can say that the Dam is still OK (no visible water pollution), the river below the Dam - eish, She is a different story.
I hope that the grass carp have some how disappeared, vanished, gone, nada!!!

I launched at the old Vesco site next to the Holiday Inn in Vanderbijlpark early this morning. First towards Barrage and then back direction Vaaldam. I found the river surface and shorelines littered all the way to past Vereeniging, inflow of Klip and also Suikerbos and then things petered out a bit. It appears that the worst pollution was downstream from there. Nevertheless, it was not great fun doing slalom turns all the way out and back to avoid drifting bottles and other unidentifiable objects. The Vaal needs another name.
Btw, I shook out the tackle twice and netted a couple of fair sized Carp, but won't indulge in the delicacies emerging from that water though.
