Using braid on a baitcaster

Is it safe to use braid on a baitcaster for spinning purposes? (for the sake of your fingers). Recently got smashed by a big bonnie on my baitcaster using 12lb mono, and soon realised I ran out of line. So thought about using braid, that would solve the line capacity issue, but will the braid cut my fingers when casting? Will it damage the gears? Levelwind? Its a bass type rig, and helleva fun to spin with. Its a good reel, a Daiwa strikeforce 100H, but just worried about those above issues

never cut my fingers when casting and only damaged my level wind worm because i used a boat rod, 2 ounce sinker and not alot of leader!

Its absolutely fine. I use mine for similar purposes and I've never had issues. Just don't go too thin on the braid otherwise overwinds are death!

I've only ever used braid on my baitcasters... There's no problems.
