Hi,

Awesome and very helpful, Ive just taken up fishing after about 20 years, and have Tourium 30 and a Daiwa saltiest bg 40 h. I both both second hand, and have been reading on various forums about upgrading the Tourim and customising, what does this entail? I am a bit nervous of opening the reels, and I do not want to bugger anything up. Also been reading about replacing the bearings and using graphite. Can you please assist and advise. I pulled a 8.6 kg steenbras 2 nights ago with the Tourim, and I must say I am very impressed with this reel. But would also love to keep it in tip top condition and service it regularly.

If you're catching edibles and mantain the reel properly and inspect it regularly you don't need to upgrade anything.

Thanks for the reply, advice needed, what type of lubricant should I use on the inners of the reel?

oil and grease is what is normally needed, for the bearings and gears and washers..lubricant like i posted is used and there are others like http://www.corrosionblock.co.za

if you mean for rust on the frame then a spray lubricant might dry up before its needed then rather coat your reel with grease before assembling the parts if you dunking the reel

I use penn oil on the bearings and cals grease for the drag washers.Corrosion block or white marine grease on sliding surfaces and slow rotating bearings/bushes.

Thanks guys, just bloody nervous to take my reels apart. I When I take things apart and put them back togeather, I normally end up with spare parts....lmao
