Unknown Bass locations

Hi

If you have found a dam in your neighborhood, town or whereever that has Bass in and it's not a "Recognised Bass venue" please post info here.

I think it is time that fishermen become less "tight lipped" about their fishing spots...

Try to give as much info as possible on the location.

Please, only places where fishing is permissable.

Try to keep discussions and questions regarding the venues as short as possible. This post is intended more as a guide to some fresh places, and not really a Q&A session, but it is recognised that some questions may be needed. Use your discretion.

Guys

I might have found a new Green THANG home.  I took the liberty of paging through a streetmap Book of the Greater Gauteng area and noticed many a puddle/pond/dam/possible Green Thang Home on the pages.  Went to one such location yesterday after work (without my gear, eina) and the guard at the gate reckons "carp, helle es so", " die baboer, helle es so, en die bess helle es ok so" the "so" was indicated as to be roughly 35cm's in length, which to my quick calculation much be fish in the region of 1kg +.

Will, def go there over the easter days and give a report back on Tuesday, to all those that cannot afford a long holiday like myself.

I think this is the only way to find these new spots/Green Thang Homes, but guys the rest of you's need to do the same if we are to build a proper d-base of where these greenies live.

Happy Hunting those LGF's

Here's a pic of "the groen gat" neer my house I discovered a 2 weeks ago. We only fished here twice for a hour and half. Basslover caught one ratty. I only had a lot bites here but no fish. There are bass here as you can see them swimming around. there is also a weired kind of fish swimming around wich is very large in size. The colour of there fins are white/silver pointed. When the sun is direct over the qaurry the water visibility is good. You will need a guide to get to it, as it is hidden the bush.

Here is a pic from the ground. Its just a shame how the place is getting poluted by other people. There is broken beer bottles all around. I met a few young lighties there early friday afternoon, they swim and dive from the sides. They also drink and smoke weed there. The black traditional men also pray there while feeding the fish gods earth worms. The water also has green algee floating in it at some places.

We havent launched a tube here yet, we only fished from the side. I think I should take the tube and drop a jig with a creature down to the bottom.

Basslover and I went out to groengat on Saturday morning. The other venue had game hunters. We were only there for a hour and a half and just when the bass started jumping like crazy, we had to leave because basslover got a callout to work.

The weather was up to sh1t aswell. Here is the gps coordinates to "the Groen Gat". Please do not go here alone. We have a new secret spot we going to fish from now on. But we will still fish groen gat, Varsity Dam as often as posible!!
