The Ford Fury Toti UKFC Fishing Festival
This last weekend played host to this epic Kayak Fishing comp, and what a great comp it was.
The boundaries were from Umhlanga in the south all the way up to Blythedale in the north.
Weather conditions were almost perfect with flat seas and very little wind but even so the fishing proved to be pretty difficult....
Almost predictably master kayak angler Markus Potgieter took first place once again with a fantastic Couta of 20.4 kg caught on Saturday morning off of Blythedale. Markus also got a decent tuna setting the bar for the rest of us to aim for.
Well done Markus.
Dylan Pfeil took second place by landing a lovely 16.5 kg Yellowfin tuna at around 9:30 am on Sunday morning off of Umhlanga.
Well fished Dylan. That smile said it all.
Chris Hill won the lucky draw prize of a brand new, new shape Stealth BFS kayak.
Unfortunately nobody managed to win the new Chevy bakkie by catching a Couta of over 30 kg.
The event was fantastically run and attended by over 80 kayak fishermen and is bound to grow and grow every year.
A big thank you goes to all the generous sponsors including Toti Fury Ford, Beach Bums, Stealth, Pinnacle Kayaks, The Kingfisher, Free Spool, Boss Paving, Ufudu Turtle Tours, Sodwana Bay Fishing Charters, Halco Lures and Go Fish Magazine.
Also a big thank you to Julian Dalton and all the UKFC committee members for all their effort in putting this brilliant event together.
