Just about all the pay lakes have pro anglers willing to teach and the most common form of fishing in the UK is not Specimen or Match but feeder fishing which is 90% the same as our conventional bank angling

He must go to the pay lakes, make himself familiar with the rules of the lakes and have a chat to the Caretaker/Owner.

The pay lakes hole money comps (like Pro Mania) at least 6 days a week in some towns and many make a living out of the fishing.

He must just remember that in 80% of the feeder lakes there are few or no carp and the target species will be bream, rudd, roach and skimmer with the odd Tench and Carp thrown in for good measure.

In Carp match lakes catching 50-80kg in a 3 hour session won't be difficult once he gets the hang of it.

Try www.carpforum.co.uk

He can make a post there in the general section and ask for tuition classes, lots of pro anglers do that over there.

Hi,
i'm a papgooier from Pretoria, who has been fishing in the England and Scotland for the last 10 years. First off, where in the UK is your relative, because carp and match fishing is popular in England and not in Scotland, north of the border, it's more trout, salmon and pike, assuming that he is looking for fresh water species. If you let me know where he is, i will be able to suggest a tackle store and maybe a few lakes, and works best on them.
