Howdy :)

Now that the weather has turned towards winter, what species of fish are going to be the most available to catch?

I for one don't mind the cold weather. In fact, I love to fish in the cold !

Some of my best catches have been when the weather was so miserable, no one else wanted to go fishing with me. But, they missed out on some of the most productive fishing I've ever seen. So, I just want to know what to target here in the western cape this time of year.

Where to go... What baits... what to look for... ?

Any input here would help.

BTW... That's a catfish I caught in the winter time in the states...
Nice one... But only about 28 pounds.

I'm quite new to the blouberg/Melkbos area, but I think the conditions are looking good for galjoen? I saw a lot of guys colleting bait yesterday, but it did not look like there was that much (Red Bait) Spoke to one or 2 other locals and they said in a day and half's time in the haakgat area? So I imagine white mussel, red bait , for gallies.

I'm sure you will get some responses from the other sealine members who fish in that area.
