Well, what can I say?
I got to Murray Park just after 6 on Saturday morning, and the weather looked good for some topwater action. I rigged my plastic frog and off I went. After about 20 minutes a fair sized Bass took my frog and I was on! Then tragedy struck. It went into some reeds and got stuck. I didnt have waders or shoes I could walk into the water with (There are lots of broken bottles at Murray park) so I tried to horse the fish out, and my line snapped.
After that a few fish blew up on my frog, but none of them would stick. JohanVC arrived and we walked along the banks looking for more. I was still on my frog and he was trying a couple of different baits.
We were on a ledge and I swam my frog past an isolated reedpatch when another piggy took a swipe at my frog, but it didnt stick. I told Johan to put his craw right there, which he did and he was on! He brought to the bank a small Bass and we were overjoyed that we finally caught something.
We carried on until about 11:00 when Johan decided to call it a day. I was waiting for a call to go collect my sister, so I decided to stay until she phones. I persisted some more, and got a few blowups, but nothing getting stuck to my hooks... I literally started throwing every thing I have in my tacklebox, but all that accomplished was to get stuck and I lost a lot of lures.
It just wasnt my day, and all in all a very frustrating day, especially because I lost so much tackle!
Herewith the only fish caught on the day.... And only because I warmed him up for Johan LOL!
Taken with a cellphone, so the quality is crap.... Just like my phone
