I had the same type fitted on my boat trailer. They have all crapped out over the Xmas break and I also could not get the old type with the plug as you have. (also tried Midas) I fitted the ones with the removable lamps. All four fittings and 8 lamps (bought 4 spare) cost me just on R150. The older plug types are a lot more expensive.
They dont make the ones with the plugs anymore ..... the wires are now epoxied to the light. So its cut and solder I'm afraid.
