Trouble at Betties bay

Good evening everyone

I am in Bettys bay at the moment and I am struggling to pull up anything other then a klipfish. I have been fishing with chokka and white mussel at the island and I think its called blougat. I have been fishing for three days now in the evenings but I am having no luck. I am getting frustrated now so I am asking for any tips or places to fish to increase my chances of catching something. Has anyone had any luck the past time? Any help would really be apreciated.

Update
I went fishing again today and caught a pretty big skaamhaai but nothing else. Does anyone know of any rock and shaw fishing charters in the betties area?

Hi Andreas, with the southeast wind and overcast conditions over the next few days fishing should pick up even though it's neap tide.
Best advice would be use chokka and fish bait to target kob in areas where the water is discoloured.
It's neap tide so the fish generally don't move much, spend 30min at a spot and if you haven't had a good bite move on to the next unit you find a place where there is some life in the water.

I am back in Betties now for December and I am ready to fish.

I would just like to catch fish so I am not too picky on what species. I would like to know what fish I am mostly likely able to catch so that I can target it and do research on how to catch it in this time of year and weather conditions. It is warm but the water is cold. A strong South East is blowing. I also have a new gadget(deeper sonar start) that I would like to test out. It is a little castable sonar.

Any recommendations would help greatly🙏

its more than most people catch. Try areas like tom se klip with fresh white mussel and wonder worm for steenies. early mornings and late afternoons sessions. also, dawids kraal when there is some brown off clour water for kob ..

Where do you cast at Dawids kraal? Or do just cast far out?
