Trolling motors...

This is my boat...

I am looking for a second trolling motor with foot control!!!

What is the ideal size motor for this boat (17ft almost) in Cpt.

Is the Jarvis any good and salt water resistant?

Please any help will be appreciated! V

Do the ladies come with the boat ;-)

Seriously though, is it a Scimitar? I used to have one, a very lekker boat, my familly have never forgiven me for swaping it for a bass boat.

haha, da ladies are MINE!!!

its not a scimitar - but similar - only it has a much deeper V, dont know the hull, but have seen one other just like it, will upload some pics of the before and afters cause i pimped it big time over december!

I have even been out at sea with it, in the poort at the strand, was a little scary but if the nose lifted with the trim and tilt and the 90hp yammie is in good hands its do-able, on a flattish day... haha

My boat is 95% similiar to yours. Looks like old raven hull. I confirmed mine with raven themselves. They have a website which only displays there latest boats. You can contact them at 011 422 1341.

Please note I am not referring to the elite range. The boat was manufactured before the release of the elite.

I have a 115hp Mariner on mine, and as happy as hell.:)

Similar only, will upload some other angle pics today just gotta get some work done first!

I have a little bit of a hangover since last nights game... not because i wanted to drink, i HAD to drink cause people recons Earl Rose is a rugby player and comments on how well he does/did - i could not sleep thinking there are so many stupid ex rugby players in this country so i had to drink till i pass out!

Earl Rose is an excellent (0/16-sized) (B-school team) (second rate) fly half!

70 lb trolling motor would be good but a 54lb will also work fine. I had a 54lb Motorguide on my 17 foot Scimitar which I have transferred to my 16.5 foot Ranger (much heavier) and it does the job, even in a fairly good wind. Of course a 70lb would be much better, I have an idea that Santa might just be planning to bring me one^^..

If I had dop last night I would have gotten VROT. Earl Rose must have some serious stuff on the selectors. The oke could never play before, can't play now and never will. He's always in the team but I've never seen him do anything right. I vote him the worst rugby player ever. You're right.

I have a Jarvis 12v 54 lb on my 16ft Raker, and it works extremely well. My boet has a 24v - 80lb Jarvis on a Rebel 532, no problems in 2 yrs. At the price you pay for the Jarvis, you can buy 3 Jarvis = 1 Minncota for the same thrust!!

The foot control is so simple, my 5yr old son can control it. Also because it's 100% electronic, you don't have to balance one leg on the foot control the whole day. 500% lighter on fatigue espacially lower back.

We also fish Kosi lakes that is saltwater and the Jarvis doesn't seem to mind it. You rinse it anyway after a saltwater trip...

It is not heavy on battery life eather, compared to my Minncota I replaced with the Jarvis I get 60-70% better battery life.

I suspect we are going to see a lot more Jarvis in future. I will defenately recomend it.......Anybody from Jarvis listing....How about some sponsorship ^^..

Remember you are in CPT, the south easter causes havoc with a Trolling motor don't be scared to go big. I have 82Lbs on 18Ft Ranger my boat comes from CPT! Believe me when I fished in CPT I sometimes needed all 82Lbs.

Go BIG!

I agree Jarvis walker is not a bad motor till Uhm It breaks..........parts with these bloody things are an issue.

Rather go a bit bigger on the trolling than save a few bucks and than go smaller and wish you had just that extra bit of Thrust.
Also another suggestion go 24v if you can - more tourque and longer battery life...

Parts on all trolling motors are an issue, not necessarily because you can't get it, but because you pay thru your @rse. Would have cost me more to replace the speed control unit on my 4 yr old Minncota, than what I paid for a new Jarvis, in fact if it does break out of warrantee, I wont feel bad dumping it and buying a new Jarvis again. By the time I replaced 3 trolling motors, it was still cheaper than buying one new 54 lb Minncota....At this stage I cannot find fault with the Jarvis trolling motors, I suppose only time will teach how good the quality is....

The boat was transformed in 30 days. you name it.... from spraypaint to seats to motor rebuild - wiring etc.... ask me anything...
