Trolling board DIY

Can we have some input here please just for interest sake? I have an Idea but some constructive input from Sealiners would be cool.

I removed my trolling board yesterday and the poor thing is in a sad state. Lucklily I got my hands on an awesome new board. I'm not sure wha ttype of wood it is but it's HEAVY and HARD as nails. Thought it was teak at 1st but it's too heavy I think it might be blackwood or something like that. It has a very dense grain dark brown to red in color and one or two knots whis goes to pitch black. So now i'm very amped to get this churned out quick-quick!

My plan is to put 6 holders in it which I already have, all stainless, 4 uprights and 2 flats.

Murphy's law!! You'll need 4 flats and 2 upright!! If you have the space, you can even run 5 flats and 2 uprights.

Ja-ja :) that's OK I can go shopping again yay! Looking at one side only, there was an upright (well, it's s;lanted about 30 deg down), aimed at about 45 deg outwards (of course) and the other upright about 300mm from it pointing straight back. then there were 2 flats, one straight back and another at a slight angle outwards, plus another flat on the centre. Other side was a mirror image. so it had 5 flats, but there were all PVC pipe type jobs which I'm going to throw out. I'll mount 4 of those on my duck. I have plenty of space - the board is 2.4m long. Thanks miles it's guys like you that make Sealine shine. I've got so many questions at the mo I can start my own internet forum!

Made mine out of Iroko. Good stuff, tough as nails and it likes water. I painted it with DeksOlje. First had some plastic holders on but they kept stripping and pulling straight, waste of money. Then fitted four s/steel flats and two uprights. Still battle with the s/steel flats as they work loose in the wood and pull straignt. May have to modify them and fit another bolt to secure them in their angled positions. Will post some pics.

These were the first plastic crap. They lasted all of one trip
