Hi there,

perhaps a guru can help. Trims were working before launch, on retrieve the starboard motor will only lift up _+ 1/5 of the travel. The motor (trim) is working, but seems like runs out of steam?

Any advise? suggestions

hi Not a guru , but past experience you have lost some oil or have an air lock , try bleeding it and refill with oil spec of course.  If the motor runs but no movement this is usually the cause , check the seals for leaks.

Hope this helps. If you have tried above then I have no idea whats causing the problem

just been done. was hoping one would find a quick fix air block or so, seems not and now the parts may be a issue and well long story.

Thanks for the input.

Had a similar problem on one of my ETEC's. It started making a strange noise a few weeks before packing up. I though it was a low oil problem, but the oil was fine. It ended up being a faulty trim pump motor which they replaced under warranty.

Hi Guys,
The trims have been stripped, the mechanic reckons a butcher was at them, metal filings in the oil and bolts removed with a hammer and screwdriver. No wonder they are not working.

They were new and have only had 5 months use before one of the "Approved service dealers" decided to fix them, when I had no complaint with then and they were working fine before.

Trim Tilt damage images below.

These are supposed to be new units? only 5 months from new and never been opened except by Agents? Any ideas what could cause this damage. Looks like another month before will even get parts etc.

Barry.

Not winning yet.................

Hi Divedevils. Or a hammer and a chisel.

Perhaps you could ask your pals at Pinetown, as they would have to remove these to fit the beaching kits, which is the only work that has been done on these units from new.
