Treble trouble

Hi,

I'm looking to beef up the trebles on a couple of my old and new cranks.

Want to barbel-proof them, as most of the trebles are fine for smaller species, but too thin and flimsy for barbels. The only lure I have that comes out with decent trebles is my Lume Mad Pumpkin.

What make of trebles or shape would you suggest? VMC, Mustad, Owner?

And also what split rings (lb / kg) would you go for?

I'm aware that heavier hooks will affect the lures action and sinking rate, but that's better to live with and fish around, than losing a big fish.

Cheers
