It's a place in Coffee Bay called Mpuzi. Sat 2 June 2007.

Kob caught on a Poseidon 4 Magnum, Torium 30, Dbl x Hi-vis 0,47 mm line. Used 6/0 Mustad big gun hook.  Bait was a Sand Mackeral belly.

Rockcod caught with Sardine head. Tackle used was a Poseidon 5, Daiwa SL30, Kingfisher Hi-Abrasion 30lb.  Caught on Friday 1 June abt the similar time.

Goodmorning.
I will be buying a new reel & was thinking of the Torium 30.
How does the Torium 30 handle with the big boys & how much of line did
you put on the reel?

Thanks guys.

@ Kathie

Did have a problem with the anti-reverse dognut, but sent it back to Tatlow & Pledger. They sorted it out & within a week was returned to me. After that - no problems.

The Torium 30 is a great reel. Casts well. Smooth drag. Good cranking power. Excellent buy for the price. I have 600m Kingfisher 45lb braid & about 250-300m Dbl x Hi-vis 0.47mm line on this reel.

Handles the larger fish with ease. Caught numerous grey's in the 5-10 kg range. Also a couple of skates +30kg's. Still looking for that +100 kg shark to really put it to the test.

Hope this helps.

Cheers

The Torium 30 is an excellent reel, most of  the WP anglers use them to slide for the monsters we get down here, and i havent heard of any being lost because of the reel failing or anything !!!!
