I got these 2 TLD20 and Saragossa FE model grinder in to service Jaco Louw's yellowtail reels.
They were opened in the nick of time if you look at the pictures. See Shimanos OEM white permalube grease has starting turning green from the mixing and the oxidation reaction process from contact with sea water. After this corrosion begins to quickly set in spelling bad news for your reels.
The tld reels needed a proper service and 2 spool bearings required replacement on the one reel.
The Saragossa required replacement of one bearing(left side main gear) see the outside corroding in the pictures.
Look at how they looked before cleaning and getting the JJ TLC to afterward.
They are now protected as best as possible with the products that i use for serving and the maintenance of reels.
Enjoy the post, ensure you have your reels serviced on time and do not wait until they break or are noisy or will no longer turn by hand. All reels are not blanket fixed for 2 reasons 1 cost involved and 2 the time required to repair and restore them,
