Ek stel voor jy kry vir jou n landing mat om mee te begin. As daai vis uit jou hande spring gaan hy seer kry. Lees bietjie die "carp safety" section vir inligting oor die korekte toeristing vir groot karp hengel.

Totally missed this thread, so a little late, but congrats to all the anglers, some beautiful fish!

Those anglers that don't like the BS comments that are tossed around at times should use the ignore button rather than getting all worked up. Life's too short to let a keyboard ninja grey your hair!

Yes for sure....just ignore. Luckily not a lot doing rounds around here. Going to rietvlei soon. Hopefully will be posting decent catches again.

Hoeveel het hy geweeg en op wat het jy hom gevang? Ek en my vriende wil n naweek by rietvlei na die eksamens gaan vang ons kyk om in die chalets te bly enige tips?

Conditions very bad at Rietvlei. Water level low with "slyk" sticking to your lines. During the day impossible to fish when wind blows.

Mange to land a couple of fish in spite of crap conditions.

Vlei is baie leeg op die oomblik,

het saterdag laat middag n tent gemaak, en net voor ek my lyne in kan kry, besluit die servo op aasbootjie om op te pak, moes try cast, maar n PVa sakkie met boilies gaan nie tot waar ek wil wees nie......

niks vis nie, maar wel n foto van die lee dam...

how was the grass in the water, doesnt look bad in the photo...

The grass is still there, during the night the wind was coming towards the bank,and the next morning it was a BIG fight to clean and free the lines from the grass. but i have seen worse and one can work with this.
