For sure BM - they certainly dont live in harmony - you will see a good scar on one off these bass.
This impoundement is on the Manyame river and is the third in a series. If you look at google earth just south west of Harare is Chivero(McIwaine), then Darwendale then this one (Biri - dont confuse with a place called Biri River lodge also in Zim). Built by local farmers about 8 years ago - we used to live close by so spent hours on it and still go there now. Tiger are indigenous to the system and bass came in from Darwendale upstream and local farm dams when they spilled.
The initial days the tiger were awesome and the bass scarce. The robustus were also and still are good and we would pick up the odd bass when targeting robustus(nembwe) The bass were all good ones and almost always has a scar from a tiger bite. Think the small ones were too petrified to come out their cover. Over time the bass are improving and tiger diminishing.
My view is that the tiger are easier to net as they roam in open water a lot and also they go up the tributaries in large numbers when they are flooding(now) to try to spawn I think. Locals netting can inflict some damage at this time.
Few bass have scars now and we are seeing smaller specimens as well. Without any human interferance it would be intersting to see which would dominate. This dam is long and deep which is different to its predecesors upsteam.

Thnx Ryan - now that I learnt how to post pics will post more - the ultimate pleasure to me is getting my kids to enjoy this game. Will post more pics of the my little heroes jigging in the deep blue ocean .

Fishton, the Tiger are indeed dead ( sorry - on that day it was Fry the Fighter) - the bass we kept in the live well took the pics then released them . The small tiger at that time were actually an absolute pain - all those tiger are small ones caught while targeting robustus with rapalas/spinnerbaits. Had to put a small trace on the rapalas or else our tackle box would be cleaned out in quick time!!
Only problem was the trace would inhibit the action of the crankbait a bit.
