Quick question::

If you had R2000 to blow, what would you buy to target Tigerfish?
We are doing the upper zambezi in May!

Unfortunately R2000 does not go very far these days.

Sensation make a nice little Tiger stick for below R1k. But 2k is a VERY tight budget.

2K is going to be a stretch but IMHO I would suggest a Sensation Tiger Tamer (2 piece spinning rod) paired with a Daiwa Crossfire 3000 reel

Although I'm a huge Daiwa fan some of their smaller reels are sub-standard quality. The Daiwa Ninja is a good choice, just under R1000.

Other options are a Shimano Nexave R735, Sedona R900 or Sahara R1050.

Sensation Tiger rods range from R550-R1000 max. There are a number of other rods for Tiger fishing for around the same price range.

They Okuma Ceymar is a very capable reel, I've seen 20kg catfish being landed on it.

Shop well and you might even be able to get some braid for the reel.
