Tiger fishing Jozini

I'm off for a tiger fishing trip to Jozini on the 18th/20th April. Can anyone advise on the water conditions. I've heard that the recent rains have browned the water to the Gollela camp site. Can one fish tiger with sardines in the brown water of the river or is it best to get to the cleaner water of the main dam. Thanks.

Usually the weed beds hold clear water around them, and also this time of year the water is usually cleaner.
Otherwise one can go and fish on the swazi side or even in the gorge which works well this time of year

Thanks for that Cpt. Hook. I've heard that the water is brown. Will certainly give the weed beds a try. I've been to the gorge once but had no luck. I'm sure to give it another bash. That was in March last year. I've never tried spoons or Rapala's on Jozini do you think they would work? My thinking, and I'm no pro by any means, is that in Jozini main dam the fish swim in shoals. They'll come on the bite for a few minutes and the off again. Is there any point in using a lure of sorts other than trolling when going from one spot to the other? Will be interested to find out if spoons would work as effectively as bait. I'm sure the river is quite a different prospect with lures but if it's muddy do you think it worth a visit. So many questions. Sorry and thanks.

The water is a bit stained now,but its not to bad.I would suggest you to go fish against the mountain side of the dam, chicken hearts is working very well,if you battle to get some, stop at the O.k in Pongola and ask at the butchery dept, its dirt cheap and super fresh.
