this winter story isnt working for me.whos been fishing this week and has had luck,i saw 1 swirl and that was it for the rest of the 3hrs i fished.

Apparently Bass isn't so easy to catch. Even more difficult in Winter, but the big ones do come out in Winter.....
If you saw a swirl, you did something right on that moment. When that happens, try to replicate what you were doing at the time and put your lure right back where it was....
When you think you are fishing slowly, slow down some more....

I caught a 3 bass at Pretoria C.C. on Friday afternoon.

I kicked their ASSSSSSSESSS this weekend, maybe we should request ever so HUMBLY that Our EMPEROR makes a Freshwater section for our Freshwater Report Backs.

I still haven't seen a section saying report back/s in the freshy section, (I know the EMPEROR is extremely Busy running his Kingdom so, I'll excuse Him and post it here)
Went to Roodeplaat on Sat and what a mixed day it was. It started with me getting to the water and after inflating DADUCKY i realised that my rods were still standing behind the kicthen door EEEEEEIIIISSSSHHHHHH!!!!!! Went back to collect them and so forth.... picked up a small puncture on the front, really small.
Water was green where we launcehd nothing like the water at the old Northern Transvaal Angling Grounds where I was on Thursday. At the damwall (where people advised me to go to) the water was almost as bad as the water at Harties was(is) last week when Johanvc did his BETT, but it wasn't all that smelly.
Right, now to Da Feesh, My bud boated one at the damwall about 08:30 on a small spinner 340grams, after a long while we left and went to another bay to the South, I boated 1 also 340grams on a watermelon seed Grub, we went back to the damwall but by now the light wind had shifted all the Peasoup there and it was yucky, we then went to the most western side and drifted around the shore for a while and found some structure in terms of submerged trees (clear water) and thank you very mech we caught another 5 withe the heviest weighing 520grams.
We went drifing around towards the launch site and my Bud decided to launch a terminator spinner, 1st cast 1 feesh, 460grams, released it and casted the 2nd time, and what a train ride that was, screaming reel, water being sliced by the line, rod tip whacked into the water and a line break, (the second one for the day that did that)...needless to say we never saw that one nor the one prior that busted the neighbours line, But fun and exciting it was without a doubt.
It was a Good Day.

Sorry I could not make it but the landy had some other problems I had to sort. But she is running 100%. So where we heading next weekend? You up for it?
The breaking line is a favorite at Roodeplaat that’s why you will never see me use spinner baits at that place as the barbells like them as well and I have NO need hooking in to one of them

No probs for not making it, on the line break thing, the second one, I thought as much that it might have been a barbel as it not once surfaced and actually dove straight down (Barbel style) the first line break we had was almost similar except for the diving dowm part and the lure used, it was a watermelon seed grub, rigged carolina style and the retrieve wasn't all that slow, so I do have my doubts on this line break.
Next week end? Well now, it's the "Bosses" B-day on Wednesday after the coming weekend and her sister planned a party this coming Sat so, this weekend is Out for me as is next week ito the Bass Lake trip, If I do get around to casting out a line perhaps on Sunday then I'm sure it will be nothing more than perhaps Struben for and hour or two (but even that is a very big maybe).
Anyhow I'll still see what the work Boss says about leave and then we might have a look at say the 25th of May, tell me if that will suit you for a trip to Bass Lake and then I can start with the application for leave on this side?

I went to Witbank on thursday, fished the dam from 14h00 till 16h00, got 4 bass all on a fluke, Wat. Red pearl.
Fished pretty deep and very very slow.

Where's your pic's boet and how big were them greenies that you caught? Did you hunt them from the bank or from a boat? What kind of structure did you get them from?
