This is my first attempt at modifying a lure, after reading that the monsters lurking at struben go for birds what better lure to use than a bird lure, as none exist that i could lay my hands on i decided to modify one of my devil spooks and thus creating the Bird Spook, the devil spook was perfect because of the way it moves if u work it slowly it replicates the movements of an injured bird and the sound the lure makes is perfect for this. Hours of work have gone into the reinforcing of the feathers to make sure they will stay in perfect condition if that lunker decides to go for it. Here are the pictures of the 1st one i made. But as they say the proof is in the pudding and i will post all pics of fish caught on this. Hopefully catch a new PB as well.:wfish

Snyper564, I give you 1000 bass point on your man-card! Absolute genius.

Go land that that bird hunter. Fish in the afternoon, left side of the dam, in between the reeds.

I wish you luck sir.

Congrats!! That is awesome!
Cant wait to see a pic of the dogfish you catch on it.

How did you get the feathers to stick to it? Superglue??

Yes and i reinforced each row of feathers with thin wire to keep them in place.

R.I.P. The Bird Spook. 17 June 2009 - 18 June 2009
I went to struben dam today to hunt the monster, full of hope and expectations the lure worked like it was supposed to but after about 30 min it decided to make a tree its new home and no matter how much i begged it to come down it would not:( all that work for nothing.  I think that will also be my last visit to struben i have now had enough of that dam its enough to break u and i will not be broken by that place. Now i just need to find a new dam which is a prob:(

No all you have to worry about is explaining to the misus why the lovebird has no feathers ... at least the evidence is gone!

Snyp, my bra, you had the guts to try. Tell you what, I'll start work on one of them spro-frogs, add feathers and see how it turns out. When I'm done with it I'll donate it to the "Snyper-bird-sanctuary for bass"
Maybe we can hit Stuborn's dam toghether.
