myself and katana (kurt) decided to do some early fishing on the second seeing as how the babalas from the 31st had finally subsided. we got to the beach around 5.45-6 and watched one of the most amazing sunrises as it came over the mountain.
after admirering the sunrise for a bit while getting our tackle rigged and ready to go we finally got out lines wet. ten min later i got my first on dad!!! not exactly what i was hoping for!!!
a sock!!!!
any way... after rebaiting with some chooka and pike off i went again and 5 min later... another on dad!!!!!! this time ether there was still a foot in the sock or i had something with gill on the other end of my line!!! this little number gave avery good account of its self for its size!
think its a little blue ray.
things went quiet after that for a bit. then about an hour later i got picked up by this nice beauty!!!
then 15 min later i got his slightly bigger brother!
so all in all not a bad start to the year, a bit sad cause we were hoping to pick up a cob or two... but then again you cant always get what you want!! still was a great day out and all parties returned home safe to fight another day..... well all except the sock... im having that stuffed and mounted!!
and so ends my tail.
