I usually try and vary between manufacturers. Some have an almond where the smell could kill a horse its so strong, others have almond that smells like water. I always open the different dips in the shops and smell them. So if I want a seriously strong almond, I will search until I find it. Mostly supercast dips are very good quality though.

I usually mix ball dip into the bait I am about to make a ball from. So I will mix the ball(with the dip in) and then bait the hooks and apply hook dips.

I do sometimes. But I am learning how to fish again. I have been three times in the last 1.5 months. Before that (5 years ago) I used to fish at least twice a month. I have forgotten most of what I knew. Also, with all the new stuff available on the market I am a bit confused.

I did however catch my first fish on boilie this past weekend.

It was only a 3kg carp. But I am still learning to make proper rigs for boilies. So I am glad that I caught the one that made the itch, itch even more.

I bought a boilies starter pack because I am not sure how to use them yet. It contains various flavors and sizes. It was on one of the bigger ones (I would estimate around 10mm) that the fish was caught. A most beautiful noise(on my magnum) when the fish just took off.

Haha i have personally never caught a fish on a hair rig but I want to!

I buy all my rigs...they are quite dependable and it is so much less effort!!!

The best dips that I have ever used:- Moirs and Robertsons.
I have used Caramel from different manufactures, PSB, Supercast, Champion, but at the end, The plain Moirs caramel ensured that I caught 22 fish at the Vaaldam.

I also use the Robertsons Almond on my boilies, success rate is a lot better then with the other Almonds out there.

I have a couple of dips from manufacturers in my box, but at the end the stuff I learned to fish with is still working for me.

Cheers

I prefer to use a ball dip and keep the baits plain or dip the top hook and keep the bottom plain .It also depends where you fishing and what the fish favour the most but as a base i always like FX :)

I didn't think that you can actually dip boilies. They seem so hard, surely they won't absorb any of the dip. Most dips are real thick and syrupy.

In the Doorndraai article in the stywe lyne, Loukie said they dipped their tigernuts in Tjop tjop, and tiger nuts are also realy hard. They said they dipped them and hung them up so the nuts can absorb the dip.
