here is the ultimate solution........and I want mana from you all..okay.

get a horse, eats your grass and fertilises it and is allowed on the beach, so parking will be no problem and you don't have to carry your tackle box down the beach. In fact you don't even have to get off, you can just wade in on horse back........cool idea hey?

a hovercraft will work like a charm, but wonder how long it will take before you end up with a 8oz grapnel in the head for the blowing sand all over the beach......unless you travel behind the backline..........jeez no need for casting....

true but we like to fish without the crowds e.g transkei, sodwana, moz, e cape

see you can get a 2 & 4 man unit . . . maybe must secure agency and rent them out?

i reckon it will work like a charm, the craft itself will have no impact on life on the beaches.....are they available here in SA, could be a brilliant business oppurtunity.

Why not just start building them. Hovercraft are pretty simple to build. You could probly build a hovercraft for far less than buying one.

i'm a fisherman not a rocket scientist . . . imagine being able to cruise down to kingfish bay at sodwana where no one fishes anymore . . . thats where i thought i knew how to fish in the 80's, lost more fish than i caught as a lightie

Re scooters, you can get good quality Jap and Korean scooters for slightly more than the Chinese makes, but they are very reliable and great to ride ..I use my wifes Kymco every now and again - I weight 125kg and it runs up all the hills here in Toti and Durbs - no problem.

Does 120 km/h with me on and even with my 9 yr old daughet will still see 100km/h, has 13000km on the clock now and still runs liek a charm. Plus with the under seat storage and top box, has plnety of space for kit ..

As a matter of fact it runs with my mates Pulsar 180 - he being the same size as I am.

It is also offcourse very light in fuel - haven't calculated yet - but will go just past forever on 5 litrs, when using it just to pop to teh shops and around town quickly.

And it will go anywhere - have used it 2 years in a row at the the Sani2c MTB race - around the campsites - 3 days of basic offroading, mud, sand, veld you name it - to handle the logistics part and no hassles - it was not designed for it - but it will do it.

BTW..here is my fav transport for relaxing and fishing - not fuel efficient unfortunately ...but man is it fun.

What size is that Kymco?Price now?And your mate's Pulsar-is he happy with it?Can you ask him when seeing or hearing from him how many kilos per litre he gets?Bajaj Pulsar is cheaper to buy than the Jap equivalents and by all reports faster and more economical.If I take a readvance on my bond I'll pay back less on my bond than my savings on petrol if I drive a minimum of 400km a month/100km per week.Some claim to get 60km per litre and if working on 50km per litre,my savings will be 20l/R200 and my bond will be R180pm on new 15,5% bond rate.Still need to consider insurance, but maintenance savings and wear & tear on car will contribute to these costs. Cheers!

Yep legal on the road ... I bought it, but the previous beetle motor decided to do a burn out - so it was totally destroyed - stripped it, sandblasted it and re-build it from the ground up...did a few mods on the new beetle motor to prevent any fires and installed 2 fire extinguishers just in case..

Can barely drive on the highway, with cabbies pulling in next to me to check it out and take photos ...always a 10 minute discussion forum with someone when coming out of the shops...lol
