Here's the Tommy Gun.

About as elegant as a sledgehammer... built for one purpose...to hunt BIIIG fish!

Not as refined as the other ones.

I wonder if we will ever see, or be able to afford them in SA ( the other ones )

I think Tommys gun would be the 1st choice of any spearo wanting to shoot Tuna or other big pelagics like Marlin.

Re. the other guns - like you said it's the affordability. Most of these guns are available to buy online but are hellishly expensive. Not many guys out there willing to spend 8 to 12 grand on a speargun.

I was lucky enough to pick up a 2nd hand tommy gun and float for a steal! It's never been used and is being sold to fund the new new golf club...

Anyway I'm new to the wooden gun scene, so what maintenance would one have to do to keep the gun in good shape? Is it the same as looking after a cricket bat with linseed oil, or is there more to it?

Any advice or help would be much appreciated, as now that I have one I don't want to see the thing go to ruin.
