Ian, do u know MOFAM. It's a ski resort on the Palmiet river. We were there a weekend ago and there's bass everywhere even for a novice like myself. The water is extremely deep and drops off at a rate of knots from the side. Surface temperature was 28 degrees when we got there. Lots of 1kg bass around the trees in the water. Best bass at the venue is 4.23kg.

They can not leave a white fluke alone, and would only take lizzards in watermelon with red flake as an alternative, no other plastic in this colour and wanted nothing to do with crankbaits, surface lures, spinners etc.

my brother caught that fish. his foto is on the wall 'Ryan Nienaber'.

I strongly suspect the 2 bass in the pictures on the wall there is the same fish

the initial record was in winter, 4.20kg

the next was late last year, 4.23kg

If i remember correctly coz i was packing in the whiskeys. Place is expensive, but had a great time there.

ja, i agree with Valrath, those two bass look nothing alike, unless you tagged them and there is like 10 years difference between the two bass.

The current record (ryans fish) was caught on a 5" june bug senko and gave a really good fight.
Ive been there a couple times in the last two years and have seen the quality (size) of the fish drop everytime i go.
Yes you still get the odd good fish there but you have to work really hard all day to get them, which is a good thing, there alot of rats and mice around these days and a bluegill population explosion
