I use Snaps on bigger jigs (1 to 2 ounce) and still catch fish - definately helps with your flouro & changing jig heads etc - cant really comment if I would catch more fish if I didnt use them though.

I normally fish for Kob here in the EC so use big minnows - hence the large jigs - I have not had much success with smaller baits, but have tried using smaller snaps on them and didnt have any hassles (didnt catch any fish either.. ) my only concern would be the strenght of the snaps - if a big fish picks u up on a small jig with a small snap you could be in for some fun .. loosen the drag and see what happens.. a straiht knot onto the jig would probably work better?

a Snap-on-swivel is a piece of junk. Get some decent wire clips and you can pull any fish on them. They come in different sizes so you match them to your tackle.

I use mine on leadheads, Havocs, spoons, plugs etc. I have never had one open up on me. In fact your leader knot would snap long before the clip would even distort.

Thanks a lot.  Will be in Durbs next week or so.  Been looking for something like that.  Let us know how it goes.

Howzit Marshie!

Yebo, those clips are the same. Do the same job and would let you down.

Will still upload a pic once I've taken it. Tonight however would be spent keeping the family happy, so pic to follow over the weekend sometime. :)

tried the snaps dnt really make a difference on the lure action but i have found its a mission to get them on smaller jigheads cos of the "eye" being so small ie. 1/8 1/4 3/4 its works on bigger jigs with ease

Hi Guys

Got some awesome little custom made clips for attaching trace to dropshots at Alcocks Fishing in Port Elizabeth. Made by Doug Swannell at R25-00 for 5. Strong little buggers.

Will upload pic later.

Cheers
