Hey guys,

I keep hearing contridicting stories of shark experiances and this leaves me puselled. Some people scream shark and say they walked on water to try get out of the sea, I have even herd of stories of guys spearfishing and being atacked with no warning at all, others enjoy the sight.

Can any one give some insite into what one should do when you see a shark. I am actualy looking forward to seeing one. Not the good old swim for your life advise, i get from people who have never even seen a shark, let alone has an experiance with one.

Does the size if the shark make a difference to the way one should behave?

Thanks guys!
This is the best source of info!

Have a look at http://www.spearfishingsa.co.za/shark/index.htm to get an idea on a few spearo's experiences with sharks. My experiences have thankfully never been too heated but they always say its the one you dont see that is the problem. Very similar to a large dog if you stand your ground and stare them down they will generally lose interest and keep going. Best advice is to remain as calm as possible and keep your wits about you.

Also more importantly, don't ever let the shark thing worry you as it detracts from your enjoyment of the dive
