Congrats Craig.fish!

Good to see your boat finally in the water

How does it work without the splashwell, and what consumption are you getting?

Good day all. I am looking into buying an AceCraft 660 DV her name is "Reel Lady" does anyone know this boat? It has two 115 hp Yamaha 4 strokes with 450hrs.

When was the last time this hull was built?

Someone I know went and looked at this boat

Decided to pass because boat not all that well looked after and trailer also patched up

Think they will accept R200 000.00, but I believe you could get a similar rig cheaper
if you are patient

Remember it is HEAVY to tow, so decide whether your vehicle is up to it and how far you need to pull it

You will preferably need 4X4 to retrieve it on the slips

I guess that boat was built later part of the 80's

Thanks Thinka for your reply and PM. I drive a Toyota Land cruiser 76 V8 so thats not a huge issue. Also if there is space Im going to try find a mooring for it around Gordons bay area so I wont need to tow it that often.

Thika, got around 90hrs on her already and going great.

Configuration is great, whatever water she takes on drains extremely well.

Loads of fishing space for a 16foot boat.

Consumption wise. She's exceeded my expectations. A little thirsty when slow trolling or pulling lures, but crusing to fishing spots, shes very economical. For example, launched DSBC the other day, all the way to Umdloti Mid-Reef, a few stop offs on the way there and back, and used just less than a tank each side. This is good in anyones language.

Can anyone ID if the boats in the pics are actually ace crafts?
Im in the market for a boat to mostly use inland on dams and a couple times a year on the ocean.
As I will have to tow them some distance weight is an issue. How heavy are Ace Craft boats to tow? Launch?
Would you guys say ace craft is the best boat to buy for my situation or what should I look at?

1- 15,6ft AceCraft CC
2- 15,6ft AceCraft FWD console
3- 14,6ft AceCraft Fwd Wood kit.

These boats will all tow comfortably (without 1 ton camping gear/cooler boxes in the boat ofcourse )with any normal bakkie(KB,colt, hilux, ranger)or small SUV

even something like a Rav4 or CRV will tow it comfortably.

Ace Craft roles badly!  :puke :puke

Not a boat for sissies who should stick with cats

Like G-cats 21.5 :)

Kleinbul

All the original Ace crafts were built heavy which is good for seakeeping

The "new" ones can weigh anything

Hi Everyone,

It pains me to do this and it is really a depressing thought...but after a LOT of thought, I have decided to sell my baby :puke
If anyone is interested - asking price is R70 000 and would even consider swapping for a smaller boat, I am seriously looking at a 15.6 Ace C/C
Unfortunately I can NEVER seem to find crew and the costs of towing it down is just way too much for me and my wife....motors have done a full 7 hours since overhaul

This was a project for the last 3 years (maybe more) on Casey, 15,6ft C/C Ace. Complete refurbishment on hull and deck. Motors revamped, spares were however vary scares and some are no longer available. Sourced newer models power heads for which spares are still available. Still need to finish the c/c with glass and stainless etc. But that's just a bit cosmetic work.
