Hi Guys,

Just some pics of the progress - decided to overhaul the motors completely as well, so that delayed me a bit...signage completed though....::S

Looks very nice , now you just need a boot stripe above the Spray rail to finish off and keep authentic.

Hi BFC - you are right, thought of spraying it on , but a bit nervous to do so, maybe do it with a sticker instead

Hello C,

4 things:

Coolest marlin with built in chicks on the planet!

The break section of the trailer looks a bit too light gauge

The handle on the anchor drum is too short to crank with...it is going to be a 2 man operation to get the rope laid and the anchor back up at sea...I have ideas to improve

the marlin should have been 3X bigger!!!

Your boat is beautiful

Vaderland BFC,

WHERE do you pluk out these old gems from?..not even talking about that collector Alpha Romeo! :fbash:fbash

Please please won't you post all those Ace pics that you had on Boatfishing last week....time to ruk all the wannabee Infidels in the bek again I reckon!

See BJ did a life threatening launch at Swaardanna in that other Cortina fanpage....we have worse swell drifting in light Northwester here catching Hotnotsvis!

LOL Bennie.....you need Cape spray China!

Hi guys.
Well, I took all your advice a couple of months ago and my project is slowly coming together, after purchasing the 15'6, I had the deck lifted, stringers and bulkheads were in perfect condition, put extra buoyancy to conform to new regs when they are gazzeted, put live well, put power steering, and hung two 50's on the back, still got other bits and pieces to do but getting there slowly, time and money as usual.
Question, I took it to the dam to do first test, all worked superbly well except for one thing, I have a cavitation problem when I turn, she runs beautifully through to full speed at 6000 rpm so props are good. At half speed even, if I try turning, she cavitates, if I increase throttle on outside motor and decrease on inside motor it manages a lot better, similar to turning a cat. What could the possible problem be, I attach a pic of motors being installed, as you can see, trim plate is level with the bottom of the hull.
Many thanks once again for all the advice to this point.^^..

would say motors may be mounted a bit high as when you turn the hull would lean, lifting the one motor even higher, thus cavitation? but I'm not a xpert. you can rev to WOT so the props should be good. or do the motors have trims units, perhaps they trimmed to high? try a notch lower down
