Hallo trinity and WELCOME to Sealine

I am so sorry to hear about your son...has to be one of the saddest things that can happen to any parent :(

If the plate on the boat says Trimcraft, then that is what it is...they were well known, not sure if they are still being built though

But by all means post some pics

There is a lot of experience and expertise on this forum

Stay well

Thanks Thika! For the warm welcome and the condolences. A very difficult thing to cope with but I think my 'project' of getting his boat back on the water where he loved to be, will be a very therapeutic one for me. Already taken the first step of getting my skippers ticket just over a month ago. What an experience :) Next step, get the boat back on the water and final step...... learn to fish!! Oh yes, I also need to find someone who will bait my hook for me :-D ! Only joking!

Thanks for the info on the boat. I will definitely post picks within the next week. She's not in bad shape but does need some TLC after four years. I've been reading the posts on the Sealine forum and it's amazing how helpful and encouraging everone is so I'm sure I've come to the right place for good advice.

Hi Guys,

Here is some feedback on how the restoration is going

Just completed spray painting the Glatex primer and planning to do the topcoat this weekend

Here are some pics from when I initially fetched the boat at Komati - when I wanted to strangle a certain person repeatedly ! ::cavmn::cavmn

(I accidently initially posted this as a new topic and it landed up in the wrong place - oops:?

Here is a pic just prior to applying the primer - all nicks and scratches repaired

PS - I'm cured of sanding down things FOREVER !!

But alas only halfway there......:doh

Glatex primer applied - now I really do hope I don't make a booboo with the topcoat !^^..

Will do the keel with yellow 2K afterwards and then it is on to the upper deck and "inside"

Not the easiest way of spray painting I know - but no warehouse or strong enough structure to "sling" her from

Oh and before I forget WELCOME TRINITY !!

Here is a pic of a T-top design that I did for the boat - might need some fine tuning though, in the process of getting a quote estimate for getting it built - I think it would be quite nice should it work

Ha, ha, ha! Thanks HelloC! Your boat is looking awesome! Wish I was at that stage already. Looking at the lines of your boat, I can see that the shape of the hull is different to mine so I'm sure thika is right about it being a Trimcraft as the tag says. Which means I'll have to 'move' to the regular boating forum instead of the Acecraft one :) BUT obviously I'll still be watching this forum to see how your restoration goes and because I think Acecrafts are beautiful!

I'll be going down the coast tomorrow to take pics of my boat so that I can make enquiries and get the restoration started.

Tsutsi,

That boat could be anywhere between '83 and '94

Get closer-up pics and more history and we will try and shed light...let the owner speak!

Tsutsuma ,

This is a somewhere between 81-84 Ace . The Period when they moved Away from the Wood kits into GRP.

The Hull of Scebenga is GRP , But Deck /Console is still Plywood.

From Late 84 the full GRP boats were built.
